Concrete and Cardboard Canoe

When I was freshman we built a cardboard chair and competed to see whose would stand most weight. But this is definitely more challenging!

Wish List: Places to Paddle

Spring is here! This year is warm sooner than usual and I hope to be on the water again soon. This year I wish to go where I have never paddled before at least once a month. So hopefully I visit about 6 places out of my list before winter is back. Ha ha not sure if I can accomplish this at this point. It really depends on budget, time and availability of my travel partners!

The list is not in any type of order.

1. Adirondack (Fall Season) - 99% yes from one of my friends!

2. Chincoteague & Assateague Island, VA
Kayaking while watching wild horses. You can't beat that.

3. Green River Narrows Race, NC
I read the news on CNN last year and absolutely want to see the race with my own eyes. Here are some photos of the Race from other website

4. My project manager's lake house, VA
I think his daughters started paddling before walking.

5. An architectural tour in Chicago, IL!

6. Swallow Falls State Park, MD
Love to be in the water near the falls!

7. Deep Creek State Park, MD
The activities are available all year round from kayaking, skiing. You can watch a thorough review video on Vimeo. And there is ACSI Adventure Sports Center a man-made river on top of the mountain!

8. Cherry Blossom, Washington DC
* 2012-04-08 - The first from my paddling wish list is completed! Though I missed Cherry Blossom padding on this Easter weekend is awesome. Definitely love to paddling in DC again.*

9. C&O Canal, DC suburban

10. Greenbrier State Park, MD
This is not too far from the city but mainly it is a man-made lake where you can enjoy swimming, canoeing, hiking, picnicking, fishing and hunting.

Meanwhile, I will just swim in the pool less than a mile from my place...
